Hand surgery
Carpal tunnel syndrome (Compressed nerve at the wrist)
When the median nerve is compressed at the wrist, the thumb, index and middle fingers in particular tingle or go numb – often at night. If conservative measures are not enough, a short procedure relieves pressure on the nerve.
Ganglion cyst (Ganglion)
A firm, elastic, benign swelling, usually at the wrist, arising from a joint capsule or tendon sheath. If it causes pain or bothers you, it can be removed surgically.
Bursa removal (Bursectomy)
Chronically inflamed or enlarged bursae, for example at the elbow or knee, can be removed if other treatments do not help.
Skin and soft-tissue surgery
Suspicious moles
We completely remove moles that change in shape, colour or size and have them examined under the microscope. Please bring any existing reports from your dermatologist.
Skin tumours (e.g. basal cell carcinoma)
Skin tumours such as basal cell carcinoma are removed with a sufficient safety margin and then examined histologically.
Lipoma (Benign fatty lump)
Benign, soft lumps in the fatty tissue under the skin. If they cause discomfort, grow larger or if you wish, we remove them as outpatient surgery.
Epidermoid/sebaceous cyst (Atheroma)
A cyst under the skin filled with sebum-like material that can become inflamed. To reduce the chance of it coming back, the capsule is removed completely.
Warts
Stubborn warts that do not respond to other treatments can be removed surgically.
Abscess
A collection of pus under the skin caused by infection. An abscess usually needs to be opened and drained so that it can heal.
Ingrown toenail
If the nail fold keeps hurting and becoming inflamed, a minor procedure on the edge of the nail can provide relief.
